Track Learner Screen Time

Elapsed Time Variables in Storyline 360

How many times have you wanted to offer a hint or reveal course information based on how much time a learner has spent on a slide, group of slides, or even the course? With the new time based variable in Storyline 360 you can.

Articulate Storyline has introduced three new time-based variables in the November 2021 update. Now you can track the amount of time learners spend on the course, within a given scene, and even on a single slide. You can even report these times to your LMS.

One technical note: these new variables all measure time based on a 0.001 second. This means you have to do a little math to convert it to “human readable” numbers like 5 seconds. Example: 5000 = 5 secs and 60,000 = 1 minute.
