Checklist for Your First Draft Delivery

Please go through this checklist and review and update your course accordingly before you let the managers know it is ready for our review. This will ensure a smoother review process for us and will result in fewer change requests being sent back to you. (Note: All these items are taken from the Artisan Online Draft Style Guide, so this is a double-check to help you be sure everything is done.)

  • MENU
  • Check the menu to ensure that it is in sequential order.
  • Verify that the menu is displaying correctly (collapsing and/or nesting correctly, numbered or not)
  • TITLES
  • Confirm that the menu/transcript titles match the onscreen titles (including title case).
  • Ensure the onscreen title is what is in the storyboard.
  • TRANSCRIPT
    • Preview the transcript to confirm that all fonts, spacing, bullets, and indentations are consistent.
  • INTERACTIONS
    • When you have a clickable item, verify that the entire shape is clickable (links, pop ups, attachments).
    • Look for consistency with checkboxes, radio buttons, for color and size. Often, this is in the selected state.
    • States should be consistent on each slide (hover, visited, disabled, etc).
    • Ensure all Submit buttons open a feedback layer (unless another option is specified in the storyboard).
    • In the feedback layer, please ensure there is no seeking and that the “hide this layer” trigger is deleted.
  • PLAYER
    • Seekbar should end with the audio or, if there is no audio, it should be .25 seconds.
    • Back buttons should go to the previous slide in sequence.
  • ACCESSIBILITY — if your course is 508-compliant
    • Check that the color contrast is compliant before delivery.
    • Remove all graphics from focus order, unless it is a graph or table (it is easier for us to tell you we need one or two added back in instead of asking that “all graphics be removed from focus order” and having to approve that global edit)
    • Write Interactive slide notes for the slides that have an interaction or question. An example of this would be telling the learner that the feedback will appear in an overlay after they select Submit.
    • Make sure to update custom alt text for the button’s visited state. If the button text is “Blue Bear”, then the custom alt text on the visited state should be “Visited: Blue Bear”

Make sure the First Page Accessibility Instructions from Appendix A have been added to the module.
